The town has about fifteen villages. Basse-Nendaz is the administrative capital. Close to Sion, the town of Nendaz is in the middle of the Rhone valley on the left bank. Its immense territory of 8593 hectares has several unique features: it follows the contours of the valley of the same name and it extends from the fertile plain to the eternal snowfields. Forests cover nearly a quarter of its land. It plays a notorious protective role, preserving the devastation of erosion and avalanches. The valley is cut in two by the river Printse ; this raging river is both source and outlet of a multitude of irrigation channels (« bisse ») for irrigation.
Nendaz is surrounded by magnificent peaks, such as that Rosablanche, peaking at 3336 meters. From that point you have the most beautiful alpine viewpoint of the central Valais. Important to know, is that the Mont Fort (3330 meters) ist now accessible to all thanks to the lifts.

During the summer season, this resort is popular with mountain bikers and hikers. Nendaz benefits from a unique network of bisses (8, 6 of which are still in use). The gently sloping, shady, motorized traffic-free paths that run alongside them are particularly popular with hikers. In July, Nendaz transforms itself into the capital of the alphorn, thanks in particular to its festival, and its varied events in August with the great Inalpe trail.

The 4 Valleys ski area:
410 km of pistes and 89 lifts in a single package: the 4 Vallées ski area flirts with the infinite. Its countless possibilities, as well as the quality of its snow cover and sunshine, make it an exceptional site in more ways than one!
With the Mont-Fort glacier (3,330 m) as its highest peak, this ski area is a delight for both experts and novices alike. Open from November to the end of April, it links the resorts of Verbier, La Tzoumaz and Bruson, as well as Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon.
The resort of Nendaz is constantly evolving to meet the expectations of its many tourists. The latest innovation is the "nec plus ultra" in alpine construction. It has completely revolutionized the resort's social life.
This is the illustrious "MER DE GLACE" complex, designed to offer elegant, luxurious apartments in a mountain architectural style (slate roofs, stone walls, old wood facades). In summer, come and discover Nendaz with its bisses that allow you to walk flat from Haute-Nendaz to Planchouet or Siviez and as far as Vex or Saxon.

In summer, the Festival des Corps des Alpes is one of the most beautiful events of the summer, taking place either at Tracouet or at the Centre Sportif de Nendaz.
Nendaz also boasts completely refurbished tennis courts, a climbing wall with several new lanes, a beach volleyball court, a soccer and baskettball cage, a large green field where children can run around in the center of the resort, a slake-line and a bisse that crosses the Ecluses plain.
The 25-meter outdoor swimming pool is the idyllic spot in the region, with a breathtaking panorama. A small pool for the little ones and a curling and table tennis area are available to guests
